Terms and Conditions

  1. Competition

1.1              Blake’s Army Ltd ACN 653 877 573 (Blake’s Army) is conducting an AFL football tipping competition (the Competition) to support its charitable purposes.

  1. Entering the competition

2.1              Blake’s Army is offering entry into the Competition to residents of Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and other States and Territories in which Blake’s Army is entitled from time to time to offer participation (each an Eligible Jurisdiction).

2.2              To enter the Competition, an individual must be an Australian resident 18 years of age or older and complete the registration form, available at http://www.blakesarmy.org.au, prior to commencement of Round 2 of the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season on Thursday 13 March 2025.  The registration form requires that the individual provide their name, email address, phone number and date of birth.  Participants will also need to confirm that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.  By submitting the registration form, an applicant irrevocably consents to these terms and conditions.

2.3              Blake’s Army may use participant information to contact them about news, events and general information in relation to or promoting Blake’s Army.

  1. Commencement, competition platform and rules

3.1              The Competition will commence for Round 2 on Thursday 13 March 2025 and end at the conclusion of the home-and-away season on Sunday 24 August 2025.

3.2              The Competition will take place using the ESPN football tipping platform.  The rules related to participation on the ESPN football tipping platform are ESPN’s football tipping competition rules, available at https://www.footytips.com.au/tipping?ff=howtoplay (the ESPN Rules).

  1. Exclusion of certain individuals from participating

Blake’s Army officeholders, employees and members of their households are not permitted to enter the Competition.

  1. The prizes

Weekly prizes

5.1              A prize will be awarded to the winning participant in each Round, as determined in accordance with the ESPN Rules.

End-of-season prizes

5.2              3 end-of-season prizes will be awarded, being:

(a)                first place of $1,500 to the participant with the best performance across the Competition;

(b)               second place of $750 to the participant with the second best performance across the Competition; and

(c)                third place of $350 to the participant with the third best performance across the Competition,

each as determined in accordance with the ESPN Rules.

5.3              The total value of the weekly and end-of-season prizes is $5,000.

  1. How the weekly and end-of-season prize winners will be announced

The names of weekly and end-of-season prize winners will be published on the Blake’s Army website, accessible at http://www.blakesarmy.org.au, at the conclusion of each round and at the end of the season, respectively.

  1. Notification and release of the prizes

7.1              The weekly prize winners will be notified by email.

7.2              Blake’s Army may request that the prize winner provide proof of identification before releasing the prize.

  1. Delivery of prizes

8.1              Subject to clause 8.2, any weekly prize awarded will be transferred to the prize winner within 28 days of the end of the particular Round, and the end-of-season prizes will be transferred to the prize winners within 28 days of the end of the home-and-away season.  To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blake’s Army is not responsible for any delay in delivery (including because of electronic problems) other than where the delay is caused by Blake’s Army.

8.2              Blake’s Army will make every reasonable effort to contact prize winners.  If any weekly prize is not claimed within 28 days after the end of the particular Round, that prize will be awarded to the participant who wins the next Round.  If any end-of-season prize is not claimed within 28 days after the end of the home-and-away season, that prize will be awarded to the participant who was awarded first place.

  1. General

9.1              All images used in relation to the Competition are for promotional purposes only.

9.2              If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, including (but not limited to) tampering or any other causes beyond the control of Blake’s Army, which undermine or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, Blake’s Army reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any person who so undermines or affects the Competition, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to any laws, regulations or directions of the Eligible Jurisdictions.

9.3              In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result of the Competition or prevents or hinders its determination, including (but not limited to) vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, pandemic, acts of God, civil unrest, or strikes, Blake’s Army may in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition subject to any laws, regulations or valid directions of the Eligible Jurisdictions.

9.4              Blake’s Army reserves the right to disqualify any person whom Blake’s Army has reason to believe has breached any of these terms and conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or improper misconduct calculated to interfere with the fair and proper conduct of the Competition.  Blake’s Army reserves its legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from any such person.

9.5              Blake’s Army accepts no responsibility for any kind of loss, damage or liability suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or incurred by any prize winner in relation to the Competition, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. 

9.6              To the fullest extent permitted by law, each prize winner irrevocably releases Blake’s Army, its affiliates, officeholders, agents and employees, from all liabilities, loss and damage of any kind arising at any time out of or in connection with their acceptance of, and participation in, the Competition.
